Art, Conviviality & Snacks Annual Open Studio Gathering 2008 - May 3/4 This year our annual Open Studio event takes place the weekend of May 3rd & 4th. The Constant Gardener — in The Atlantic A Journey to Sweden and the Home of Linnaeus Published in The Atlantic, March 2007 Photography for MIT's Sea Grant Program MIT Sea Grant is one of America's 30 Sea Grant programs located in each of the coastal and Great Lakes states. Funded by the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, Sea Grant promotes a sustainable environment and economy. I was delighted when Sea Grant invited me to be the photographer for their elegant calender, now in its second year, and for some of the images on their new website. Art, Conviviality & Snacks 2007 Thanks to everyone who attended our annual Open Studio weekend of art and conviviality. Peter's interactive project, "Sonic Ocean," is now available for listening at www.petedunn.net. My photographs, "Consider the Oyster," are on exhibit at the Left Bank Gallery.
Less new, yet still very nice news Hiestand's "Hymn" wins National Magazine Award This essay, a tribute to the wisdom and community of an urban black church, was first published in The Atlantic Monthly. The Good City —15 Great Writers on Boston Edited by Emily Hiestand & Ande Zellman Beacon Press 2004 A soulful collection of essays sponsored by The Boston Foundation and presented as a gift from the City of Boston to the delegates at the Democratic National Convention. Ebb Tide Editions, an independent press in Boston's Back Bay, publishes books, and artworks. Our premiere book is Barbara Hindley's novel, Grace—an urban fable about love, family, and the promise of America.
